Welcome Mayra!
This month you get your own private page for PSY 629A: Adult Life Span Development. I want this to be a great experience; this class has a lot of personal reward. For independent study I teach this course as a chance to explore yourself as well as a topic of your choice in the field of Adult Life Span Development. I hope it is a fun month.
We will have a brief phone call the first week of February to kick things off, and then meet twice on two dates to be planned between us. These will generally be an hour or so, no more. The first will be to discuss your research topic and film you watched. The last will be to discuss the results of your reserach and to give a brief oral on your reflective paper. Again both in person meetings should last approximately one hour.
There will be three assignments:
1. 5-7 page Research Paper on a topic in Life Span Development of Your Interest
This can be found in the text or by browsing the topic of adult development. Pick something you will enjoy learning about or that will be in line with what you want to do career wise. "Adult Life Span" will cover any period from Early adulthood to death.
50pts
2. Watch a Movie. Choose a popular movie, and be able to discuss how it reflects on a particular topic in readings, and adult development. No written assignment. This will be a discussion on our last meeting. 30pts
3. The Personal Reflective Analysis 50 pts
4. Attendance at phone call and two meetings 20pts total
TOTAL POINTS: 150
Directions for the Personal Reflective are found on the link below.
