PSY 623B Clinical Assessment II

Caroline Paltin, Ph.D.

E-mail Dr. P

WELCOME TO OUR SECOND MONTH OF CLINICAL ASSESSMENT!  This month we will explore treatments and interventions in the contexts of the Diagonostic and treatment issues confronted in mental health work.  We will overview the various models of treatment as we examine your own therapeutic styles and it is my hope that you will begin to develop and imagine the type of therapist you are becoming, explore the interweave of humanity and technology that is the art and science of psychotherapy.

Readings will focus a great deal on handouts to be provided, and lecture and videos we will examine, in addition to A few chapters of your Assessments text.  DSM will be used as reference.  It is recommended but not required that you utilize Corey's Theory and Practice of Psychotherapy book in the course of this learning, but again not required, as I will be supplying you with handouts and materials as well.
